What is faith? Faith is the belief that God is real and that God is good. Faith is looking up to Him when you feel like you have done everything in your power. Faith is putting your full heart, soul and trust in Him. It is a choice to fully believe what you cannot see, but feel with your whole heart. Without faith it is impossible to please Him because the one who comes to God must believe with their whole heart that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Hebrews 11: 1,3,6
Hebrews 11:8-9 “It was by faith Abraham obeyed God’s call to go to another place God promised to give him. He left his own country, not knowing where he was to go. 9 It was by faith that he lived like a foreigner in the country God promised to give him. He lived in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who had received that same promise from God.”
How amazing that Abraham gave up everything to obey God and leave with his children, to a place that he had no idea about, but was promised from God that the land would someday be his. The trust he placed in God’s hands with his family, to live in tents so that they shall receive the same gift. I know this must have been hard but with faith anything is possible.
Hebrews 11:23-28 “23 It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born. They saw that Moses was a beautiful baby, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s order. 24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of the king of Egypt’s daughter. 25 He chose to suffer with God’s people instead of enjoying sin for a short time. 26 He thought it was better to suffer for the Christ than to have all the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking for God’s reward. 27 It was by faith that Moses left Egypt and was not afraid of the king’s anger. Moses continued strong as if he could see the God that no one can see. 28 It was by faith that Moses prepared the Passover and spread the blood on the doors so the one who brings death would not kill the firstborn sons of Israel.”
Moses, who’s parents hid him, risking their own lives gave faith and trust to the Lord that their precious son would be okay. Moses, who gave up all he had to do what he knew was right, instead of staying, he chose to suffer with God’s people rather than enjoying sin for a short time. He put all his trust and all his faith into The Lord to follow his heart and do what was right. Would you be able to give up everything you once had, with only your faith to keep? Would you be willing to fully have faith and give it all to God, and do as these men did?
Father I ask you to allow us to fully have faith, and to fully trust you and your word! That when we are going through a difficult time or when we are struggling that we give all our troubles to you and let you guide us through it. That if the time ever presents itself that we must listen to you, that we have the strength to abide by you and not fear but let go and let you take the wheel. We love you and we praise you, in Jesus name Amen.
